Western Realty Finance (WRF) is seeking a skilled Compliance and Risk Manager to join our pioneering Brokers First program. This vital, contract-based role focuses on ensuring all broker submissions and lender interactions adhere strictly to regulatory standards, while also assessing and managing the associated risks of loan origination. This position is pivotal in upholding the integrity and success of our operations, leveraging the innovative LoanStream.ai platform to enhance our compliance and risk assessment processes.

Role Overview:
As the Compliance and Risk Manager, you will be instrumental in implementing and managing comprehensive compliance policies and risk assessment strategies. Your expertise will support the seamless integration of regulatory standards within the loan origination process facilitated by LoanStream.ai, ensuring WRF and its broker network operate within all legal and regulatory frameworks.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all relevant regulations and laws affecting the construction finance sector and loan origination.
• Oversee the integration of compliance standards into the LoanStream.ai platform, ensuring all broker submissions meet regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments on loan submissions, identifying potential financial, legal, or reputational risks and developing mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with the IT development team to incorporate compliance checks and risk assessment tools within LoanStream.ai.
• Provide regular training and updates to the broker network on compliance policies,      regulatory changes, and risk management practices.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports on compliance activities, audit findings, and      risk assessment outcomes for senior management.
   

Ideal Candidate:

• Minimum 2 years of direct experience in compliance or risk management within the banking or direct CRE/construction lending sector.
• Strong familiarity with loan origination systems and comprehensive skills in      Office software (Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat).
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field, with a strong understanding of real estate finance and financial analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex regulations and assess financial risks.
• Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex compliance and risk concepts clearly and concisely.
• Familiarity with ChatGPT and AI automation tools is a plus.
